2012 US Election
Since his historic election Barack Obama has had to deal with the economic crisis as well as trying to push his health reforms through. Will he maintain his popularity and follow both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush in serving two terms?

He is quickly losing popularity here at home. None of his policies that have been implemented have worked, and in many cases he isn't living up to his promises that he has made. He will not be able to follow through with Gitmo, his removal of troops in Iraq, only to stick them in Afghanistan has also proven to be wildly unpopular. The economy continues to slide into a state of utter despair. Unemployment has reached staggering levels, and then the White House staff steps up and claims Obama's policies have created or saved over 2 million jobs... This is a joke, as anyone with 1/2 a brain can see that unemployment is up to over 10.2%... far over the promise Obama made that if we approved the stimulus package we would not see unemployment up over 8%. How scary is that? More then 1 in every 10 people you see is no longer employed... Just contemplate that next time you are in a crowded store... 1 in every 10.
While the media pushes him as the second coming, and they attempt to bury his poor performance by jamming issues with Tiger Woods, and missing women, and every other little worthless thing (by comparison, and with regard to their direct effect on the nation as a whole, I don't consider missing and murdered women and collapsing families like Tiger's to be worthless, but their general effect on me and my family is nil), we still realize his presidency has been, thus far, and utter and complete failure. The Democraps are pushing big government and deep deficits, and they are doing nothing to fix the problems this country faces, they are simply broadening and deepening the issues.
Obama is a single term president IMO. Even the Democraps are seeing through his facade. But the Republican party needs to put a real candidate on the ballot. They don't need a toy candidate who overwhelms with popularity, they need a strong candidate, one that can and will get things done.
I think by 2012 we will see republican dominated executive and legislative branches again. Hopefully they can dig us out of the holes Obama and the Dems are putting us in. I fear these holes may be too deep to dig out of in 1 or even 2 presidential terms... this may be 3 or 4 terms deep...
Things are VERY bad in the States right now.
I want to see Rudy Giuliani. I also like Huckabee, but his religious background will keep him out of things. Mitt Romney would be a great man for the economy, but here again, as a Mormon, I don't think he'll gain the votes needed. I like Palin too, but honestly she is somewhat bimboesque, and she really needs to be working on her understanding of politics, the economy, and world affairs rather then pushing her book. I don't think she is ready, and i don't think she is putting forth the effort to learn what she needs to learn to be deserving of the presidency.
So I think we really need to look elsewhere. But we need a conservative mindset, not a damned Neo-con or liberal.

You guys really need to pull your fingers out over there, if you want to remain Super Power No. 1, otherwise it won't be to far in the future that that mantle will be taken over by China.
We used to see a fair bit of Bush in our World News segments, but all we see of Obama is either playing with a dog, kissing his daughters, hugging his wife and lately picking up some Nobel Peace Prize for, well I'm not sure what exactly. We saw awards handed to others for - lifetime of excellence in this or that, or for such and such brilliant discovery. Yet your President got one for doing squat. It kind of diminishes the whole award.
Totally pulling out of Iraq or not paying the necessary attention to Afghanistan would result in some dire consequences IMHO.

Conventional wisdom in the states is that the NPP means nothing now. Thanks, five old guys in Stockholm.
